About This Blog

My faith walk has taken a significant turn over recent years.  It all began with a book recommendation from my son, Will.  The book is entitled Gospel of Christ Crucified, a Theology of Suffering Before Glory by John Harrigan.   I've poured through the book three times in an attempt to take it all in.  Subsequently, I read John's doctoral dissertation entitled Extending Mercy to the Gentiles, The Jewish Apocalyptic Trajectory of Pauline Discipleship.  Over the last year, I attended two of John's conferences here in Tennessee.   Sometime during this period I was introduced to the Apocalyptic Gospel Podcasts which has broadened my faith a great deal.  Through these podcasts and John's conferences, I was introduced to Bill Scofield, somewhat of a mentor of mine, whose ministry resides in Redding, California.  Through an online Bible study, one of the participants shared with us a Messianic Jewish ministry called First Fruits of Zion (aka FFOZ).  I ordered a video study through FFOZ entitled HaYesod, a Hebrew word meaning The Foundation.  At John's last conference, I met a number of folks who I now consider dear brothers, one of which is Coach Steve Patterson.  He is an avid disciple maker who has been a great help in developing my own ministry.  He is featured in a YouTube film called I See Nations.

Here's my take-a-way from my experiences over the past couple of years.  While we live in the present evil age, (Galatians 1:4) the apostle Paul warns not to be conformed to it (Romans 12:2).  At the end of this age, the awesome, cataclysmic day of the Lord will separate this age from the age to come.  Scripture tells us to always be ready for the coming of our Lord (1 Peter 4:7).  Jesus (Yeshua) was and is a Jewish Rabbi.  He is King of the Jews and He's coming back at the end of the age to inaugurate his much anticipated Kingdom, also known as the Messianic Era.  His Kingdom will be headquartered in Jerusalem, with Jewish "priestly" believers taking the lead in instructing the Gentile nations, as they have been entrusted with the oracles of God (Isaiah 2:2-3, 49:6, Micah 4:1-3, Zechariah 2:11, 8:23,
Romans 3:1-2).  I will have much more to say about these matters in subsequent posts. I pray that you will have an open mind to the teachings of the early church, prior to being compromised by Greek and Gnostic philosophical thought that has moved us away from our Jewish roots (Romans 11:17-18).

Maranatha! (He has come and he is coming)
